Munish Datta is focused on embedding environmental and social value at the heart of business strategy. He believes the next era of sustainable business depends on collaboration across sectors, commercial discipline, and a clear focus on real world outcomes. As Director of Sustainability at Specsavers Group, Munish leads the company's global sustainable business strategy, helping to shift sustainability from a bolt on activity to a driver of resilience, risk management, and long term value—anchored in Specsavers' purpose of changing lives through better sight and hearing. Munish has provides independent guidance to organisations, which have included BNPP Real Estate Investment Management and Danone, on integrating sustainability into core commercial strategy and delivery. A Fellow of the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership and Cambridge Judge Business School, he works with leaders from global businesses and start ups to navigate climate risk, regulation, and social change while unlocking business opportunity. He serves as a Non Executive Director and Trustee for Bioregional, the Rama Foundation, and the Stephen Perse Foundation. His previous roles include Director at the UK Green Building Council and Head of Sustainability at Marks & Spencer, where he helped design and deliver one of the world's most influential corporate sustainability programmes.
